About the funder

The Dieter Fuchs Foundation is a legally recognized foundation under civil law based in Dissen am Teutoburger Wald (Lower Saxony). It was established in 2002 by the entrepreneur Dieter Fuchs, who passed away in 2019 at the age of 90. The foundation supports projects in the fields of science, education, upbringing, as well as art and culture – with a special focus on the Osnabrück region and the hometown of Dissen. Funding is provided for research and teaching projects, scholarships, training and further education measures, publications, as well as democracy and integration initiatives.

Mission & Vision

In keeping with the founder's intentions, the Dieter Fuchs Foundation aims to give back to the people of the Osnabrück region, particularly in the hometown of Dissen. It is committed to science, education, upbringing, art and culture, as well as the promotion of young people – driven by the founder's passion for education and jazz music.

Target groups

Non-profit and for-profit institutions implementing projects in the fields of education, science, upbringing, art, and culture are supported. Target groups are primarily children and adolescents, pupils, students, as well as families and elderly people. The geographical focus is the Osnabrück region and Dissen; supra-regional projects may also be considered. Applications can be submitted year-round.
