About the funder

The Dieter Hofmann Foundation was established in 1977 by Dionys and Else Hofmann in memory of their son Dieter Hofmann, who died at the age of 16 in an accident. Since 1978, the non-profit foundation has been specifically supporting young show jumping riders in Hesse. The support measures include scholarships, a tournament series (promotion prize) with five qualifying rounds and a final in the Frankfurt Festhalle, the DHS Youth Championship in classes A and L, support for the "Prize of the Best" in Warendorf, as well as connecting young talents with top stables. Furthermore, the foundation maintains the newly modernized Prinzenberg Stud in Pfungstadt to provide training and course opportunities. The foundation is financed from the income of its assets and is the majority shareholder of an internationally active group of companies in measurement and balancing technology.

Mission & Vision

The Dieter-Hofmann-Stiftung is committed to imparting the equestrian fundamentals and values of horsemanship to young show jumpers. Its goal is to identify talents early, support them through attractive competitions and scholarships, and provide them with professional training and experiential opportunities. In this way, the next generation is optimally prepared for a sporting career, and the partnership between human and horse is positively shaped.

Target groups

The foundation's funding programs are aimed at talented show jumpers up to approximately 20 years old, primarily from Hesse. The target group consists of young people seeking a solid basic education in show jumping, wishing to develop their athletic skills further, and interested in horsemanship and professional stable management. Particularly successful young athletes also benefit from annual scholarships and connections to top stables.
