DLR Projektträger

The DLR Projektträger is an independent institution within the German Aerospace Center (DLR). On behalf of federal and state ministries, the European Commission, and other organizations, it is responsible for the conception, management, and evaluation of research and innovation programs. With interdisciplinary expertise and a range of services from strategic consulting and funding management to digital solutions, it paves the way for research, education, and innovation into the future. Annually, it manages approximately 13,500 projects with a funding volume of around 1.9 billion euros, thereby supporting efficient transfer of resources and knowledge between politics, science, and industry.

Our mission is to effectively design, manage, and further develop funding programs as a reliable partner in research, education, and innovation. We believe in the success of interdisciplinary collaboration and are committed to ensuring that funding is used purposefully to address societal challenges such as climate change, digitalization, and health research. Transparency, quality, and user orientation are always at the core of our actions.

The DLR Project Management Agency addresses funding applicants from science, research, and industry: universities, non-university research institutions, companies—especially small and medium-sized enterprises—as well as associations and non-profit organizations. The target group also includes applicants from German federal and state ministries and project participants in European and international funding programs who require expert support from the proposal outline through project implementation to completion and evaluation of their projects.
