About the funder

The German Oral Health Foundation (DMS) is an internationally active, non-profit foundation based in Solingen since 2009. Its mission is to advance research and prevention in oral health while highlighting the connections between oral and systemic health. At its core is an interdisciplinary Health Senate, where experts from dentistry, medicine, dental hygiene, science, and business collaboratively develop evidence-based concepts. DMS has supported over 300 studies, awards the Prevention Hero Award for outstanding prevention concepts, grants quality seals such as the OralFitness Center®, and organizes training sessions and campaigns like “Healthy Mouth, Healthy Body.” Furthermore, it supports the Hightech Agenda Germany, thereby promoting innovative technologies in dentistry.

Mission & Vision

The mission of the German Oral Health Foundation is to sustainably strengthen oral and general health through predictive diagnostics, individualized prevention, and interdisciplinary cooperation. It provides a neutral platform for science and practice to transition from reactive reparative medicine to genuine health maintenance. The goal is a paradigm shift in dentistry and medicine towards early diagnostics, prevention, and holistic care.

Target groups

The funding and networking offerings of DMS are aimed at dentists, dental hygienists, medical doctors from various specialties, as well as researchers and decision-makers in health associations and institutions. Furthermore, the foundation addresses university lecturers, practice owners, and supporting members who wish to implement innovative prevention concepts and actively participate with responsibility in the DMS Health Senate.
