About the funder
The Don Bosco Foundation Chemnitz is a legally recognized foundation under civil law, based in Chemnitz, Saxony. It was approved by the Saxony State Directorate in November 2017. Its purpose is the procurement and allocation of funds to promote education, upbringing, and youth welfare, particularly in support of the Don Bosco House Chemnitz in the Sonnenberg district. Among others, the children’s and youth circus BIRIKINO as well as projects for disadvantaged and at-risk young people are supported.

Mission & Vision
"A Chance for Young People" – The Don Bosco Foundation Chemnitz is committed to democracy, tolerance, and social responsibility, and mobilizes support for the youth-promoting work of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Chemnitz, who have been supporting children, young people, and their families since 1991.
Target groups
Children and young people, especially socially disadvantaged and at-risk youth, as well as their families in the Sonnenberg district of Chemnitz. Geographic focus: Chemnitz, Saxony. Support is provided to participants of the youth circus BIRIKINO, school social work, experiential education programs, and family education initiatives.
