About the funder
The Dortmund Foundation is a legally recognized foundation under civil law, established in 2000 and based in Dortmund. As a non-profit community foundation, it exclusively and directly supports education, upbringing, science, research, and culture. Since its inception, it has invested more than €1.8 million in projects that strengthen the knowledge and skills of young people in Dortmund. The board and foundation council work on a voluntary basis, ensuring that all donations and proceeds flow directly into funding. Nearly 100 founders and numerous donors support the foundation to open up new opportunities for young people and actively shape the future of the city of Dortmund.

Mission & Vision
The Dortmund Foundation is committed locally to securing Dortmund’s future viability and attractiveness by specifically promoting the knowledge and skills of young people. Target groups
The funding programs and projects of the Dortmund Foundation are aimed at children, adolescents, and young adults from Dortmund and the surrounding region, particularly at schools, educational institutions, as well as social and cultural initiatives with a focus on disadvantaged neighborhoods. The goal is to promote individual strengths through diverse educational, research, and cultural projects, improve learning and development opportunities, and stimulate STEM skills at an early stage.
