About the funder
The Dr. Gabriele Ruge Foundation was established in 1998 by Annegret Ruge with the aim of supporting the care of children and adolescents with cancer as well as their families in the regions of Wilhelmshaven, Friesland, and East Frisia. It finances diagnostic and therapeutic measures, rehabilitation and recovery services, promotes the psychosocial support of affected families, and provides financial and material contributions to improve the equipment and spatial facilities of therapy centers. To fulfill the foundation's purpose, financial grants are particularly awarded to those in need, and projects such as SpielRAUM or home-based psychotherapeutic care are supported.

Mission & Vision
The Dr. Gabriele Ruge Foundation is committed to supporting children and adolescents with cancer and their families in the northwestern German region during their difficult life circumstances. Through transparent, needs-based funding measures and close collaboration with self-help groups, clinics, and psychosocial services, we aim to sustainably improve the chances of recovery and quality of life for those affected.
Target groups
Children and adolescents with leukemia or tumor diseases, as well as their parents and families in the regions of Wilhelmshaven, Friesland, and East Frisia, are supported. The foundation is aimed at those seeking help, self-help and parent associations in the pediatric-oncological field, as well as psychosocial and therapeutic institutions that carry out projects related to diagnostics, therapy, rehabilitation, and family support.
