About the funder
The Dr. Hilmer Foundation was established in 1989 by testamentary disposition of Dr. Johann Anton Hilmer from Frankfurt am Main. Its purpose is to promote science and research in the field of pharmacy. Since 1991, the foundation has awarded doctoral scholarships every two years. To date, a total of 20 scholarships have been granted, each amounting to €1,750 per month plus a material cost allowance of €250. The foundation's assets amount to approximately €800,000, with an annual funding volume of around €25,000.

Mission & Vision
The Dr. Hilmer Foundation supports outstanding early-career researchers in the field of pharmacy to strengthen pharmaceutical research in Germany and promote innovative approaches to drug development. Through targeted doctoral scholarships, it creates the human resource as a key to scientific progress.
Target groups
The foundation supports research-enthusiastic doctoral candidates with excellent academic achievements in pharmacy, medicine, natural sciences, or comparable fields. Applicants must generally be under 30 years of age at the time of application and have already secured their doctoral project at a German university. The foundation is exclusively aimed at individuals who significantly advance pharmaceutical research within the scope of a doctoral project.
