About the funder
The Dürr Foundation Hamburg is a non-profit private foundation established in 2002 in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Its mission is to support and advance social developments through preventive project funding in the fields of education, culture, and health. It initiates and implements its own measures or develops them in partnership with experts and institutions. A particular focus is placed on supporting young people with regard to equal opportunities, language skills, and social engagement, including student programs such as START and Horizonte, language support for school entry, as well as scholarships for prospective teachers with a migration background.

Mission & Vision
Our goal: to support and advance societal developments. The Dürr Foundation is committed to promoting equal opportunities and works along the lines of prevention to develop and establish long-term effective projects. It relies on shared responsibility and close cooperation with competent partners to achieve sustainable improvements in the future prospects of especially young people.
Target groups
The funding programs of the Dürr Foundation primarily target children, adolescents, and young adults facing disadvantaged starting conditions. This includes, in particular, pupils and students with a migration background, gifted and committed young people, prospective teachers with a migration history, as well as families with early developmental risks. The aim is to strengthen their educational, cultural, and health opportunities and to support them in developing their personal potential.
