About the funder

The Dumeklemmer Foundation is a community foundation established in 2011 in Ratingen. It sees itself as a service provider for the promotion and implementation of civic engagement in the city. The foundation brings together citizens, initiatives, craft businesses, companies, and social institutions, facilitating ideas and projects that strengthen the common good and quality of life in Ratingen. A core element of its work is the financing of projects from the proceeds of an endowment fund, which was built up by citizens and the city of Ratingen (€70,000). Among other activities, the foundation operates public book cabinets ("BOKX"), organizes mentoring programs, and supports initiatives in all districts of the city.

The Dumeklemmer Foundation sees its mission in promoting, networking, and further developing civic engagement in Ratingen in an unbureaucratic manner. Through the initiation, support, and accompaniment of projects, it aims to bring together individuals, initiatives, and companies to jointly implement innovative, sustainable, and charitable endeavors for the benefit of the city and its citizens.
