About the funder
The Edith Stein Foundation is a legally recognized consumer foundation under civil law based in Waldbreitbach. It was established in 2012 and exclusively promotes the academic education of medical students for charitable purposes. The aim is to secure and further develop medical care in Germany, particularly in rural areas, in the long term. Since 2023, the foundation has been running a scholarship program that supports medical students who commit to working in areas with a high demand for physicians after graduation.

Mission & Vision
The Edith Stein Foundation is committed to securing the future generation of medical professionals and strengthening high-quality medical care in rural areas. We support dedicated medical students to make a sustainable contribution to the health of the population.
Target groups
Funding is provided to medical students who commit to working for a specified period primarily in rural areas or locations with corresponding medical needs. In addition, research grants, travel expense subsidies, and initiatives to recruit young talent in general education schools may be supported.
