About the funder
The Elfriede Eilers Foundation is a non-profit and charitable foundation under civil law based in Bielefeld. It is particularly committed to children and the elderly and supports innovative as well as supplementary projects of the Workers' Welfare Association (AWO) District Association East Westphalia-Lippe and its subdivisions. The available funds directly benefit people in need; administrative costs are not financed from foundation funds. The foundation board and advisory committee work on a voluntary basis, and the foundation's assets are permanently preserved.

Target groups
The funding programs are aimed at disadvantaged children, adolescents, elderly, and disabled people in East Westphalia-Lippe. Support is provided particularly to AWO day-care centers, senior centers, and other facilities of the AWO District Association East Westphalia-Lippe, in order to strengthen communication, participation, resilience, and quality of life of the target groups.
