Elisabeth-Kleber-Stiftung
About the funder
The Elisabeth Kleber Foundation was established in November 2001 and presented to the public in February 2002 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Baugenossenschaft freier Gewerkschafter eG. As a pure grant-making foundation without commercial purposes, it supports around 35 projects annually in the Hamburg metropolitan area. With an endowment of more than 860,000 euros, it primarily funds projects that strengthen social cohesion in the neighborhoods, promote cultural diversity and tolerance, and enable educational programs and intergenerational encounters.

Mission & Vision
The Elisabeth-Kleber Foundation is committed to making an impact where people come together daily: in the neighborhoods and residential areas of Hamburg. It supports institutions and projects that improve the social environment, build bridges between cultures and generations, and strengthen local educational offerings. Through time-limited funding, the foundation aims to sustainably enhance the quality of life in the districts.
Target groups
Non-profit initiatives, associations, and project sponsors in the Hamburg metropolitan area are supported, focusing on three main target groups: children and adolescents with projects aimed at developing key competencies and educational offerings; people with a migration background and intercultural initiatives to promote respect, tolerance, and cultural exchange; senior citizens with programs to prevent social isolation, promote mobility, and encourage intergenerational interaction.
