About the funder
The Engagementstiftung Sachsen was founded in 1997 under the name JUST Jugendstiftung Sachsen and is a legally capable non-profit foundation under civil law based in Chemnitz. It promotes civic engagement as well as child and youth work in Saxony and operates several specialized agencies (e.g., voluntary services, self-help, volunteer agency). Small-scale projects are supported from the foundation’s income, and it also cooperates with state ministries, the Association for Youth Welfare, and third parties.

Mission & Vision
"We promote change" – with this guiding principle, the Engagementstiftung Sachsen supports innovative, creative approaches in child and youth work as well as in civic engagement. It sees itself as a development space for engagement in Saxony and provides professional and financial support to projects.
Target groups
The foundation is aimed at young people, associations, initiatives, and groups in Saxony that develop projects for children and youth or to strengthen voluntary engagement. Projects initiated by or with a young target group and implemented in the Free State of Saxony are supported.
