About the funder
The Erhard Höpfner Foundation Berlin was established in 1999 by Erhard Höpfner and exclusively pursues charitable purposes. With an endowment of approximately 830,000 euros, it funds projects in the state of Berlin. About three quarters of the budget is allocated to supporting young researchers at universities and universities of applied sciences, while one quarter is dedicated to assisting disadvantaged children and youth. The foundation awards prizes, scholarships, and grants, supports scientific accompanying research as well as model projects, and provides funding for work materials and publications.

Mission & Vision
The Erhard Höpfner Foundation Berlin is committed to enabling talented students, doctoral candidates, and disadvantaged children and youth in the Berlin area to develop their abilities. It supports interdisciplinary, innovative, and community-oriented projects that connect science, technology, and social engagement.
Target groups
The funding programs of the Erhard Höpfner Foundation are aimed at exceptionally gifted students, doctoral candidates, and postdocs at Berlin universities and universities of applied sciences for awards, scholarships, grants, work materials, publications, and accompanying research, as well as at non-profit organizations in the Berlin area that implement innovative model projects to support disadvantaged children and youth and are willing to professionally document project results.
