Erich-Schumm-Stiftung
About the funder
Born in Stuttgart in 1907, the manufacturer Erich Schumm founded the Erich Schumm Foundation with the aim of enabling elderly citizens in Murrhardt and the surrounding area to enjoy a dignified and vibrant later life. Today, the foundation comprises a senior residence (Haus Emma), two assisted living facilities (Haus Elisabeth with 32 apartments, Haus Lili with 9 apartments), a day care center, as well as the meeting place "Schumm Treff" with the weekly Sunday café in cooperation with the Murrhardt Nursing Association. Approximately 130 permanent residents and around 250 guests weekly are cared for through a holistic service: inpatient care, day care, assisted living, active leisure activities, in-house kitchen, library, church services, and a wide range of events.

Mission & Vision
"Close to people" is the guiding principle of the Erich Schumm Foundation. Our mission is to make everyday life as pleasant as possible for older adults, to promote their independence, and to provide them with a home where they feel safe, valued, and secure through professional care, modern facilities, and a wide range of leisure activities.
Target groups
The funding programs and services of the Erich Schumm Foundation are aimed at seniors aged approximately 60 and over from Murrhardt and the surrounding area who require inpatient care, day care, or assisted living but still wish to participate in social life. The offerings are complemented by the open senior club "Schumm Treff," which is directed at all seniors in the region seeking a vibrant meeting place with an affordable Sunday café, cultural programs, and social activities.
