About the funder
The European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants (GFCNI) is a non-profit public law foundation based in Munich, Germany. It brings together patients, families, healthcare professionals, and scientists from various disciplines and countries to improve care and outcomes for premature and sick newborns and their families worldwide. Since its founding nearly two decades ago, GFCNI has driven advances in neonatology through advocacy, research, campaigns, and evidence-based guidelines, promoting the global exchange of expertise.

Mission & Vision
GFCNI is committed to ensuring that every premature or ill newborn receives the right care at the right time in the right place. Through international networks, partnerships with parent organizations, medical societies, hospitals, and selected industry partners, GFCNI promotes preventive, therapeutic, and educational measures. Our goal is to continuously improve care conditions and actively involve families in research, policy, and practice.
