Evangelische Stiftung Der gute Hirte zur Förderung der Evangelischen Kirchengemeinde Sassenberg

Religious organization

About the funder

The Evangelical Foundation “The Good Shepherd” was established in December 2005 through a donation from a private individual to provide sustainable support to the Evangelical Church Congregation of Sassenberg. It manages an independent foundation capital, the proceeds of which are used for grants towards church infrastructure, worship services, work with children, youth, and families, as well as the maintenance and renovation of church buildings. Since its founding, the foundation has supported numerous projects, including church windows, the organ, interior painting, jointing work, and technical equipment such as the digital organ. With an average return of over two percent, it works closely with the Bank for Church and Diaconia (KD-Bank). Endowments permanently increase the capital, while donations are disbursed promptly.

Mission & Vision

The “Der gute Hirte” Foundation aims to support the Evangelical Parish of Sassenberg beyond the regular church tax revenues and to ensure its long-term financial stability. It supports congregational activities that strengthen direct encounters and community work and serves as an independent financial pillar for current and future generation-oriented projects of the parish.

Target groups

The funding measures are aimed at the members of the Evangelical Parish of Sassenberg (including Füchtorf, Greffen, and Milte) as well as all church groups and institutions active in the areas of worship services, children’s, youth, and family work, and the construction and maintenance of church buildings. Individual projects and initiatives that create sustainable value for parish life are supported.
