About the funder

The Evangelical Foundation Dialogue for Innovative Child and Youth Welfare is an independent, church-affiliated foundation under civil law, founded in 2011 by the Diakonieverbund Schweicheln e. V. It is committed to improving the living conditions of disadvantaged children and adolescents by supporting creative, innovative counseling, care, and educational services that are not or not sufficiently publicly funded. At its core is the diaconal principle: the Christian worldview and understanding of humanity shape tolerance, inclusion, and a commitment to the common good. The foundation also promotes dialogue between science and practice by supporting social pedagogical research and aims to generate sustainable societal impulses for educational participation and equal opportunities.

Mission & Vision

The foundation operates on the basis of the Gospel and the biblical message: God’s love for the world gives meaning and direction. It respects the dignity of every individual, promotes shared responsibility, and shapes an inclusive, just social environment. The foundation aims to enable innovative projects in child and youth welfare, strengthen the exchange between research and practice, and exert socio-political influence to promote equal opportunities.

Target groups

Projects and initiatives specifically targeting disadvantaged or children and youth in need of support are funded. The target group includes providers of independent child and youth welfare services, social educators, researchers, and all stakeholders contributing innovative ideas to the education, care, or counseling of young people. The programs address both individual projects and networks that establish exemplary approaches outside of regular funding.
