About the funder

The Ewald Vollmer Foundation was established on November 28, 2006, by the Vollmer family in honor of the entrepreneur Ewald Vollmer. With an endowment of approximately 525,000 euros, it supports educational projects in the field of technology, annually awards the Ewald Vollmer Prize for outstanding academic achievements, and promotes technical innovations as well as charitable networks in the Fulda region. Funding decisions are made voluntarily by the board.

Mission & Vision

The foundation is committed to continuing the life’s work and values of Ewald Vollmer by supporting young people in technology and engineering, strengthening their innovative capabilities, and backing regional educational and welfare projects. Funding is provided particularly to students and graduates of technical degree programs (e.g., Applied Computer Science, Digital Media, Business Informatics), individuals and institutions aiming to realize technical innovations (inventions, patents), universities and departments with outstanding graduates, as well as charitable and educational networks in the Fulda region.
