Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein GmbH (MOIN Filmförderung) is a public-law institution with shareholders from the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg as well as the state of Schleswig-Holstein and public broadcasting corporations (NDR, ZDF). It supports feature films, high-end series, short films, and innovative audiovisual formats in all phases from development funding through production and distribution funding to festival presentation. Key criteria include content quality, innovative character, and a comprehensive Hamburg or Schleswig-Holstein connection in the form of shooting locations, professionals, and service providers.

Mission & Vision
We bring images to life in and for the North: With our funding program—from script development through production to distribution and festival presentation—we strengthen Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein as a film location. We support outstanding projects of all genres, both in content and technical quality, and focus on sustainable, innovative, and regional value creation through the close involvement of local professionals and companies.
Target groups
The MOIN Filmförderung is aimed at filmmakers and producers from all genres (feature films, documentaries, animated films, short films, series, XR/360° projects) with a connection to Hamburg or Schleswig-Holstein. Funding is provided for both established production companies with large budgets as well as emerging projects and innovative formats. Additionally, the Film Commission supports national and international filming teams in realizing their projects in the region.
