About the funder

The FLÜWO Foundation is a non-profit foundation under civil law, established in 2018 by FLÜWO Bauen Wohnen eG in Stuttgart. It promotes the communal shaping of neighborhoods by children, adolescents, and elderly people with disadvantage factors, as well as committed local actors. Through project funding in the areas of neighborhood development, education within the neighborhood, health & well-being, networking in the neighborhood, and individual case assistance, it supports both individuals and local initiatives in actively shaping their environment. The foundation places great importance on cross-sectoral networking between civil society, municipal, and economic partners.

Mission & Vision

We strengthen neighborhoods and are committed to enabling people and organizations to shape their community together – for each other and with each other. Our goal is to create equal opportunities for particularly vulnerable groups by improving educational prospects, fostering a health-promoting environment, and enabling independence within their familiar living environment. Through collaborative engagement and the development of sustainable local networks, we promote social cohesion and a livable neighborhood.

Target groups

The funding programs of the FLÜWO Foundation are aimed at children, adolescents, and elderly people facing disadvantages in neighborhoods; neighbors and local initiatives committed to their living environment; non-profit organizations and local networks; as well as tenants of church-affiliated, cooperative, or municipal housing companies who have lived there for over 20 years and whose rent accounts for at least 30% of their disposable income.
