About the funder

The Frankfurter Löwenkinder Foundation for the Promotion of Child and Youth Welfare is a non-independent foundation under civil law, founded in 2009 by the owners of Gaertner & Roesebeck Kapitalberatung GmbH in Bad Homburg and merged in 2010 with the Frankfurter Löwenkinder Foundation. As a member of the Association of German Foundations, it focuses primarily on the treatment of traumatized children in residential facilities (e.g., Alber-Schweitzer-Kinderdorf Hanau) and has supported the mentoring program "Balu and You" for years, in which students accompany children weekly for at least one year.

Mission & Vision

Supporting children in their emotional development is a priority for us. We promote the treatment of traumatized children by experienced trauma therapists and empower them through reliable support and mentoring, enabling them to develop their potential, seize educational opportunities, and find their place in society with confidence.

Target groups

The foundation targets traumatized children and adolescents, particularly those in residential facilities who require professional psychotherapeutic support due to distressing life experiences. It also supports disadvantaged young people who benefit from long-term mentoring to strengthen their self-confidence and opportunities for social participation.
