About the funder
The Friedrich Karl Ströher Foundation was established on December 8, 2005, by the Kreissparkasse Rhein-Hunsrück and the city of Simmern/Hunsrück. As a non-profit foundation, its goal is to permanently preserve, maintain, and make accessible to a broad audience the picturesque and sculptural works of Friedrich Karl Ströher (1876–1925). Its central tasks include the upkeep and expansion of the collection through acquisitions, the organization and promotion of exhibitions, the professional restoration of paintings, sculptures, and works on paper, as well as the publication of scholarly and popular scientific works.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is to preserve the life's work of Friedrich Karl Ströher in close collaboration with the Hunsrück Museum Simmern, to continuously research it, and to sustainably convey it to a broad audience – from art enthusiasts to schools – through exhibitions, publications, and digital offerings. We aim to showcase Ströher's artistic diversity, promote interdisciplinary exchange, and inspire art lovers of all generations.
Target groups
The funding activities are aimed at artists and cultural workers, scientists, museums, and educational institutions in the Rhein-Hunsrück district, as well as private and institutional sponsors who wish to engage as art patrons. Particular emphasis is placed on schools, students, and young art enthusiasts to promote an early understanding of art, as well as local and regional visitors interested in exploring Art Nouveau, Impressionism, and Expressionist art within their historical context.
