About the funder
The non-profit FSD Foundation was established on May 14, 2001, and provides comprehensive support in Berlin and Brandenburg for addressing social issues. It operates both as an umbrella foundation, a shareholder in non-profit service and care companies, and as the operator of its own social institutions. Its network includes, among others, care facilities with approximately 670 places, workshops for people with disabilities (over 1,000 places), initial reception and clearing centers for unaccompanied minor refugees, shared housing for youth, transitional shelters for homeless individuals, as well as diverse support projects for children and adolescents. Annually, more than 15,000 people benefit from the foundation’s services, which are committed to the principles of solidarity, self-help, participation, and transparency in the interest of the common good.

Mission & Vision
The FSD Foundation is committed to the common good by empowering people in difficult life situations and promoting their responsibility for the community. Its goal is to support disadvantaged groups, activate their resources and skills, and open up sustainable prospects for them. Through cooperative partnerships and professional networks, it strives to realize social participation, equal opportunities, and a spirit of solidarity in Berlin and Brandenburg.
Target groups
The services of the FSD Foundation are aimed at young people, homeless women and men, seniors, as well as people with disabilities and care needs in Berlin and Brandenburg. In addition, the target group includes unaccompanied minor refugees and disadvantaged youth who require support in transitioning to independent living. The focus is on individuals who need special assistance and support services due to social or health-related circumstances.
