About the funder

The Joint Interreg Secretariat Germany – Netherlands is the operational office of the cross-border Interreg Germany-Netherlands program. It supports the managing authority in North Rhine-Westphalia in program implementation and coordinates, in close cooperation with four regional program management offices (Bad Nieuweschans, Gronau, Kleve, Mönchengladbach), the support and guidance of project beneficiaries. The Secretariat organizes the Monitoring Committee, conducts First Level Controls, and contributes to public relations and networking to promote the funded cooperation between German and Dutch partners.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to sustainably strengthen and simplify cross-border cooperation along the 460 km-long German-Dutch border. We support and advise project sponsors from the initial idea through the application process to implementation and reporting. In doing so, we are committed to innovation, economic growth, social inclusion, and better networking of the regions to promote European cohesion.

Target groups

Eligible to apply and addressed are municipalities, municipal associations, associations, and other legal entities under public and private law in the border regions of Germany and the Netherlands. Under certain conditions, natural persons who manage a company may also submit applications. Projects must always be carried out and financed jointly by at least one partner from Germany and one from the Netherlands. The target group therefore consists of cross-border operating institutions and actors that provide added value for the program area.
