Germeringer Sozialstiftung
About the funder
The Germering Social Foundation is a legally recognized private law foundation that has been supported since 2001 by the citizens of Germering and the city of Germering. Initiated by Susanne and Herbert Stark, it was endowed with initial capital of 150,000 DM each and aims to provide financial and moral support to people in need in Germering. The foundation manages its capital responsibly, using proceeds and donated funds to promote projects in youth, elderly, and community welfare, and implements flagship initiatives such as the Max and Gabriele Strobl House. As a foundation "by Germering residents for Germering residents," it understands local needs and supports both individuals upon proof of need and non-profit organizations with a local connection.

Mission & Vision
The Germering Social Foundation sees itself as a "rock in the surf" for the city community. Our goal is to provide local assistance and perspectives to people in difficult life situations—from children to seniors—through targeted financial support, voluntary accompaniment, and the development of sustainable structures. In doing so, we rely on civic engagement, efficient management, and trusting partnerships with local organizations to shape Germering in a spirit of solidarity and future viability.
Target groups
The funding programs are aimed at individuals in need within the meaning of § 53 AO with a local connection to the city of Germering – in particular, the sick, elderly, single parents, children, and youth. Furthermore, after review, the foundation supports non-profit corporations under private and public law that carry out social projects in Germering. Individuals can be directly supported upon proof of need, while sponsoring organizations can apply through project-related applications.
