About the funder
The Gründungsstipendium NRW is a funding initiative of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Its aim is to support innovative start-ups in future-oriented technologies and services. Funded founders receive up to 1,200 euros per month for a maximum of twelve months, as well as individual coaching through accredited founding networks. The administrative processes and the jury procedure are carried out by the project management agency Jülich (Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH) on behalf of the Ministry.

Mission & Vision
With the Gründungsstipendium NRW, we create space for innovative business ideas while simultaneously strengthening the economic location of North Rhine-Westphalia. Our goal is to enable founders to achieve the best possible start through financial security and practical coaching. We focus on technology- and service-oriented business models to promote sustainable companies in NRW.
Target groups
Funding is provided to individuals or teams of up to three persons who have reached the age of 18 and reside in North Rhine-Westphalia. The business start-up must be pursued as a primary occupation and implemented within twelve months before or after the application date. Non-EU nationals require a valid residence permit or an unlimited settlement permit without start-up restrictions.
