About the funder

The Gudrun and Dr. Günter Geelhaar Foundation is a Berlin-based, non-profit foundation established in 2017 on the basis of testamentary provisions by Mrs. Gudrun Geelhaar and in accordance with the wishes of her husband, Dr. Günter Geelhaar. The purpose of the foundation is to support tax-privileged corporations and associations active in the field of cancer research, combat, and cure through financial grants in order to achieve their research and therapy objectives. Furthermore, the foundation promotes animal welfare in Berlin by providing financial support to the Tierheim Berlin e. V.

Mission & Vision

The mission of the Gudrun and Dr. Günter Geelhaar Foundation is to enable research and therapy projects focused on the development and treatment of cancer, particularly in children, through targeted financial support, thereby making a sustainable contribution to cancer prevention and cure.

Target groups

Funding is primarily provided to tax-privileged corporations, associations, and research institutions that carry out projects for the research, prevention, and treatment of cancer in children. In addition, support is directed to the Berlin Animal Shelter (Tierheim Berlin e. V.) within the framework of animal welfare.
