About the funder
The HEH Essmann Foundation is a private foundation based in Lingen (Ems), Lower Saxony. It was established in 2012 by the Lingen entrepreneur Heinrich Essmann, his wife Eva-Maria Essmann, and their son Heiner Essmann (officially recognized in 2012). The foundation supports nature conservation and landscape management, education in the fields of environment and nature, monument preservation, art and culture, healthcare, amateur sports, customs and local heritage preservation, as well as charitable causes. To date, it has supported over 350 projects with approximately 1.5 million euros in funding. The foundation’s flagship project is the public foundation garden in the Emsland region, which serves an educational purpose.

Mission & Vision

Its goal is to create and preserve sustainable values in the fields of nature, culture, and community by supporting socially relevant projects.
Target groups
The foundation targets non-profit organizations, associations, and institutions that implement projects in the fields of nature conservation, environmental education, monument preservation, art and culture, health, as well as amateur sports. The geographical focus is on the Emsland region and the state of Lower Saxony. Projects that strengthen social life and have a lasting impact for future generations are supported.
