Mission & Vision
We live in a time of significant societal change that affects the coexistence of people from different cultures. It is becoming increasingly important to learn not only to judge other peoples by their external characteristics and lifestyle but also to understand and acknowledge their culture, attitudes, and behavior. When nations understand each other, conflicts can be avoided, and reconciliation and peace can be achieved. The purpose of the Heimann Foundation is to promote international-mindedness, tolerance in all areas of culture, and the spirit of international understanding. The foundation focuses on young people and their cultural development into responsible and open-minded individuals.
Target groups
The funding programs of the Heimann Foundation primarily target young people from Germany and Italy, especially authors, students, artists, and cultural workers. The aim is to promote intercultural dialogue through joint projects such as the Literature TANDEM, internships, and residencies, and to train participants to become responsible, open-minded multipliers in both countries.
