About the funder

The Heinrich Pferdmenges Foundation is a non-profit foundation dedicated to nature and landscape conservation in the Wadden Sea, founded in 1996 by the daughters Helga Jürges and Irmgard Kreutzer in memory of their father Heinrich Pferdmenges (1877–1947). It supports projects on the North Sea island of Spiekeroog and in the Wadden Sea area between the German-Dutch and German-Danish borders. The focus areas are ecosystem protection, environmental education, and marine research. Among the supported institutions are the National Park House Wittbülten, the Hermann Lietz School Spiekeroog, the North Sea Spa Spiekeroog, and the National Park House Carolinensiel.

Mission & Vision
