Heinz Volderauer-Stiftung
About the funder
The Heinz Volderauer Foundation is a legal entity and a non-profit foundation under civil law based in Oberstdorf. It was officially approved in 1981 based on the will of Heinz Volderauer (1930–1976) and exclusively pursues the purpose of permanently supporting mountain rescue, in particular the Oberstdorf Mountain Rescue Service. The foundation's capital is to be preserved intact; only the income generated is used for personnel and equipment costs, for the training and further education of the rescue personnel, as well as for structural and technical improvements of the mountain rescue stations.

Mission & Vision
Our goal is to preserve the memory of Heinz Volderauer and to carry forward his vision: a well-equipped, professional, and volunteer-based mountain rescue service that optimally combines people and technology to ensure that individuals in the mountains receive prompt and safe assistance.
Target groups
Primarily supported are the Oberstdorf Mountain Rescue Service and other units of the mountain rescue service in the Allgäu region. The foundation is aimed at volunteer emergency personnel, full-time and part-time staff, as well as organizations closely associated with mountain rescue that require technical, personnel, or structural support.
