The Hessian Ministry for Agriculture and Environment, Viticulture, Forestry, Hunting and Homeland is a supreme state authority of the state of Hesse, headquartered in Wiesbaden. It is responsible for the areas of agricultural policy, environmental and nature conservation, viticulture, forestry, hunting, as well as the care and promotion of homeland and traditional customs. The ministry develops guidelines and programs for the sustainable use of natural resources, the promotion of rural areas, and the preservation of cultural traditions.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is to promote the sustainable development of agriculture, the environment, and rural areas in Hesse. We support resource-conserving circular economy, responsible viticulture and forestry, back hunting and nature conservation, and are committed to the preservation of local heritage and customs.
Target groups
Our funding and information services are aimed at farmers, vintners, forestry enterprises, hunters, as well as associations and initiatives dedicated to local heritage and traditional customs in Hesse. Additionally, we are available to all citizens as a contact point for environmental and nature conservation issues.
