About the funder

Hilfe für kranke Kinder – The Foundation at the University Children's Hospital Tübingen is a non-profit foundation that emerged in 2016 from the merger of the association Hilfe für kranke Kinder e. V. (founded in 1999) and the Dietrich-Niethammer Foundation (established in 2005). It promotes both charitable purposes and public healthcare, as certified by the tax office. The foundation supports treatment, counseling, and follow-up care measures for seriously ill children and adolescents at the University Hospital for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Tübingen, as well as their families – regardless of the type of illness.

Mission & Vision

We want every child to receive the best possible treatment, advice, and support – regardless of the type of illness. To achieve this, we strengthen the University Children's Hospital Tübingen and the people the child needs – during their time in the hospital and beyond. Our goal is a self-determined and happy life for every child.

Target groups

The foundation is aimed at seriously ill children and adolescents who are treated as inpatients or outpatients at the University Children's Hospital Tübingen, as well as their families. It supports projects and services that promote medical care, psychosocial support, therapy, play area design, and aftercare, and that provide relief to families in emergency situations.
