Hospiz Stiftung für Braunschweig

Private foundation

About the funder

The Hospice Foundation for Braunschweig was established in 2005 as an independent, legally capable foundation under civil law. Its purpose is the long-term safeguarding and further development of hospice work in Braunschweig, in particular the support of the inpatient hospice Am Hohen Tore and the Hospice Work Association Braunschweig e. V. Approximately 5% of the operating costs of the hospice Am Hohen Tore must be covered annually through donations and third-party funds. The foundation uses the funds received exclusively in accordance with its foundation purpose and accepts both endowments and donations. Numerous measures have already been supported with these funds, including furnishing, renovations, outdoor design, training for staff, as well as projects for public relations and grief counseling.

Mission & Vision

"Feeling at home and living life" – We are committed to providing people in their final phase of life with a safe, dignified, and secure environment, and to supporting their relatives as well as full-time and volunteer staff. Our mission is to sustainably secure and further develop hospice care in Braunschweig so that the dying and their families can be accompanied according to their own wishes until the very end.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Hospiz Stiftung für Braunschweig are aimed at the stationary hospice Am Hohen Tore as well as the outpatient association Hospizarbeit Braunschweig e. V. Support is provided for specific measures that benefit the hospice guests and their relatives – such as equipment, structural measures, leisure activities – as well as training and projects that promote the concept of hospice and palliative care in the city and region. Furthermore, the foundation supports initiatives for grief and end-of-life support, public relations, and networking in the hospice and palliative care sector.
