About the funder
The Inga Köthe Foundation is a non-profit private foundation established in 2002 by Inga Köthe. With a current endowment of approximately €1.2 million and the interest income generated from it, as well as donations from third parties, it supports seriously ill children – especially children with heart conditions – and their families in the Weser/Ems region (Oldenburg, Ammerland, Friesland, East Frisia). In close cooperation with clinics, pediatric cardiologists, self-help groups, and social services, it provides financial assistance for therapies, medical aids, travel expenses, research projects, and family relief measures. Under the motto “Help from the Heart,” it is committed to improving treatment opportunities and promoting innovative approaches in diagnostics, therapy, and care.

Mission & Vision
The Inga Köthe Foundation is committed to promoting public health and providing individual support to children with heart conditions and serious illnesses, as well as their families. Our goal is to contribute, through financial assistance and networking with clinics, specialists, and social services, to ensuring that all medically appropriate means and methods for healing can be fully utilized. We believe in the power of community and support those affected with heart, dedication, and responsibility.
Target groups
The funding programs of the Inga Köthe Foundation are aimed at families with seriously ill children – with a special focus on heart diseases – as well as the institutions and professionals who treat and care for these children. This includes hospitals, pediatric clinics, outpatient pediatric cardiologists, research institutions, parent self-help groups, and social counseling centers in the Weser-Ems region (Oldenburg, Ammerland with Rastede, Friesland, and East Frisia).
