About the funder

The Ingeborg Gross Foundation is a non-profit foundation based in Hamburg, founded by Ingeborg Gross, the last owner of the family-run Schill+Seilacher corporate group. The foundation's goal is to permanently allocate the proceeds of the corporate group to charitable purposes. Since its inception, it has particularly supported science and research, education and upbringing, youth development, and sports. The foundation finances, among other things, training support, awards a science prize for outstanding master's and doctoral theses, and promotes projects and institutions that accompany young people in their development and enable sports activities.

Mission & Vision

The Ingeborg Gross Foundation is committed to sustainably promoting research, education, youth, and sports. It aims to inspire young people to develop their talents, strengthen the next generation of scientists, and support social cohesion through sports projects. In doing so, it adheres to the foundation's purposes according to its statutes (§ 52 para. 2 AO) while preserving the entrepreneurial legacy of the founder.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Ingeborg-Gross-Foundation are aimed at researchers and students for the awarding of prizes, scholarships, and professorship financing; adolescents and young adults for school attendance, studies, as well as vocational and further training; organizations and institutions such as youth information centers, educational initiatives, and associations; as well as sports clubs and sports projects to support training and competition infrastructures as well as inclusive offerings.
