The Innovations Foundation Schleswig-Holstein (ISH) is a public law foundation in the form of a public-private partnership between the state of Schleswig-Holstein and E.ON Hanse/E.ON Energie. Since its establishment on July 1, 2004 (originating from the Energy Foundation Schleswig-Holstein and the Technology Foundation Schleswig-Holstein), ISH has been promoting the utilization of scientific knowledge in business and society. The focus areas are technology, energy, and climate protection. In particular, projects in the fields of renewable energies and energy efficiency, biotechnological processes, nutritional sciences and food technology, marine aquaculture, nanotechnology/new materials, as well as information and image processing are supported. Funding is provided for networks, cooperative R&D projects with universities, infrastructure measures (equipment, endowed professorships), as well as scholarships and founder training.
