Intercoiffure – Herbert Burkhardt Stiftung zur Förderung der Qualität im Friseurhandwerk
About the funder
The Intercoiffure – Herbert Burkhardt Foundation was established in 2010 by the Intercoiffure Germany association to specifically promote quality in the hairdressing trade. It is named after Herbert Burkhardt (born 1928 in Weinheim), who, after completing his training and successfully passing his master craftsman examination, took over the family business, served as chairman of Intercoiffure Germany, and later became honorary president. The foundation awards up to five scholarships annually to high-performing young talents, finances further training measures, tools, and travel expenses, and supports the recipients over approximately 18 months through individual development plans and mentoring.

Mission & Vision
"Those who promote education create the future." The foundation is committed to providing talented young people in the hairdressing profession with perspectives and supporting them in their personal and professional development through seminars, coaching, and financial assistance. The goal is to prepare the next generations of hairdressers to meet high-quality standards and to inspire them to become successful entrepreneurs or top artists themselves.
Target groups
The scholarships are aimed at young people aged between 16 and 25 who are undergoing training in the hairdressing trade or are about to start their professional careers and require support due to a lack of financial resources. Proven skills and commitment are required, documented in a motivational video, certificates, and a curriculum vitae. Applicants should demonstrate a strong motivation for creative work and a commitment to quality in the hairdressing profession.
