About the funder

The Irmgard and Werner Meller Foundation was established by the couple Irmgard (born 24.12.1934) and Werner Meller (born 1.7.1934, deceased 6.11.2021) and was taken over by the city of Mülheim an der Ruhr in 2018. The purpose of the foundation is to procure funds in accordance with § 52 No. 1 of the German Fiscal Code to primarily support children, youth, and adults from Mülheim in the areas of education and upbringing, including general and vocational training, development aid, public health and care, youth and elderly assistance, rescue from life-threatening situations, disaster and civil protection, as well as civic engagement for charitable, benevolent, and ecclesiastical purposes and welfare services. The founders wished to give something back to their chosen home, particularly to the Saarn district.
