Ismail-Coban-Stiftung zur Förderung junger Künstler
About the funder
The Ismail Çoban Foundation for the Promotion of Young Artists was established in 2006 by the painter, graphic artist, and sculptor Ismail Çoban, based in Wuppertal. With an initial endowment of artworks valued at approximately 1 million euros—including oil paintings, drawings, woodcuts, and etchings—the foundation supports international emerging artists. Its aim is to foster understanding and identification among people of different backgrounds through art and culture, while simultaneously creating a center for art where young talents receive professional guidance and financial support.

Mission & Vision
We promote understanding. The Ismail-Coban Foundation is committed to supporting young international artists whose works contribute to mutual understanding. At the heart of our work is the human being – regardless of nationality, religion, or political affiliation. Our mission is to use art as a bridge between cultures and to strengthen integration in Germany.
Target groups
The funding programs of the Ismail-Çoban Foundation are aimed at young, international artists whose artistic work can contribute to fostering understanding between different cultures. In particular, talents who live in Germany or choose it as their place of activity and engage with the themes of alienation, identity, and integration are supported.
