Jakob-Christian-Adam-Stiftung
About the funder
The Jakob-Christian-Adam Foundation was established in 1987 based on the will of Antoinette Adam (née Coens) and is a non-profit, legally independent foundation headquartered in Bonn. It is named after the former merchant Jakob Christian Adam and his wife Antoinette Adam. The foundation's capital originates from real estate holdings on the Huppenberg in Wachtberg-Pech, which were sold in 1981. The foundation supports projects in Germany and Ghana, particularly in the fields of mission and charity. It assists the St. Josef senior residence in Meckenheim (support for people with dementia) as well as educational projects in Ghana aimed at combating poverty.

Mission & Vision
Rooted in Christian faith and active charity, the Jakob-Christian-Adam Foundation supports needy and vulnerable individuals, regardless of their religious affiliation. Under the guiding principle "Values and Dignity in Old Age," it advocates for residents with dementia at the St. Josef senior home. With a focus on "Educational Pathways Out of Poverty," it assists young people in Ghana on their educational journey to overcome poverty in the long term and open up future prospects.
Target groups
The target groups of the Jakob-Christian-Adam-Stiftung are, on the one hand, the residents of the St. Josef senior home in Meckenheim, especially people with dementia. On the other hand, the funding is aimed at young people in Ghana who are to be lifted out of poverty through educational projects, as well as at Christians and church institutions in Ghana for church management and training projects.
