The Josef Popper Nährpflicht Foundation (JPN Foundation) is a private, non-profit foundation based in Frankfurt am Main, located c/o Goethe University Frankfurt at the Faculty of Social Sciences (03), Institute of Sociology (1). It was founded on November 26, 1986, by the architect August Schorsch together with scholars from Goethe University. The foundation supports research on poverty prevention, unconditional basic income, and the historical analysis of the social ideas of the Austrian engineer Josef Popper-Lynkeus (1838–1921). Notable programs: Josef Popper Research Award, JPN Lecture Series "Social Policy for the 21st Century," Archive for Poverty Research and Minimum Security.

Mission & Vision
The foundation aims to research and further develop Josef Popper's ideas for solving the social question, as well as to publish research findings that promote a society without poverty and distress.

Early-career researchers as well as researchers with theses (Bachelor, Master, Diploma, PhD) on the topics of poverty research, basic income, minimum social security, and social policy. Geographic focus: Germany, German-speaking region. Requirement: academic qualification thesis on the thematic priorities of the foundation.
