Private foundation

About the funder

Founded in 2004 by its namesake, the Jürgen Brixner Foundation is a non-profit private foundation dedicated to the construction and operation of daycare facilities as well as the idealistic and material support of kindergartens, children's libraries, and similar care institutions for minors. Funding is primarily derived from the returns on the foundation's capital, additional endowments, and donations from the founder, his family, board and advisory members, as well as third parties. Volunteer board and advisory members ensure that all donation income directly benefits the foundation's purpose.

Mission & Vision

Our goal is to promote comprehensive all-day care for children in daycare centers by providing financial and material support where municipal funds and fees are insufficient. We believe that good care and equipment of childcare facilities strengthen equal opportunities for children and reduce societal follow-up costs caused by educational deficits, crime, and social exclusion.

Target groups

Primarily supported are daycare centers, kindergartens, and similar non-profit institutions for the care of preschool-aged children. Target groups are the sponsors and operators of these institutions in Germany who are inadequately equipped and require financial resources to ensure high-quality full-day care.
