The Karl-Heinz-Howe-Simon-Fiedler Foundation is a private, non-profit foundation based in the HOWE-HAUS in Kiel. It promotes and supports senior citizens (from 63 or 65 years of age) in the state capital Kiel who receive citizen’s income, basic security in old age, and/or a low pension. With its endowment – consisting of real estate shares in Kiel city center as well as capital and securities assets – it finances individually tailored services such as aids (dentures, visual aids), household help, therapies, and handyman services. Additionally, the foundation organizes a diverse range of leisure and educational activities (excursions, senior cinema, memory training, creative workshop, transport service, and much more).

Mission & Vision
"Life is colorful – now is the right moment." The foundation informs, supports, and advocates for seniors in Kiel to maintain and enhance their quality of life in old age. It provides unbureaucratic assistance, promotes participation and social interaction, and aims to restore joy and confidence through personal attention and projects.
Target groups
The funding and service offerings of the foundation are aimed at senior citizens from the state capital Kiel who have reached the age of 63 or 65 and receive citizen's income, basic security in old age, and/or a low retirement pension. The goal is to provide financially individual support to elderly people in need as well as to socially engage them through leisure and community activities.
