About the funder

The Karl May Foundation is a legal foundation under civil law based in Radebeul, established in 1913 by Klara May according to the testamentary wishes of her husband Karl May. It is the sponsor of the Karl May Museum and, together with the Karl May Publishing House and the Karl May Society, is involved in the publication of the historically critical edition of Karl May's works. The foundation manages Karl May's estate and assets, promotes scholarly research and publications on his life's work, and supports museum institutions and memorial sites committed to his educational mission of tolerance, international understanding, and love of peace.

Mission & Vision
