About the funder
The Karl-Möller-Stiftung is a legally recognized foundation under private law based in Hanover. Founded on August 27, 1981, on the initiative of Karl Möller (1919–1993), former Minister of Economic Affairs of Lower Saxony and long-standing member of the Lower Saxony State Parliament, it is supported by the Gesamtverband Handwerk Niedersachsen e.V. (today Unternehmensverbände Handwerk Niedersachsen e.V.). The foundation's goal is to mobilize and promote the inventive and research potential within the crafts sector in Lower Saxony. Every three years, it awards the "Innovation Prize of the Lower Saxony Crafts" during a ceremonial event to publicly recognize outstanding craft innovations.

Mission & Vision
The Karl Möller Foundation is committed to promoting science and research, vocational training, environmental protection, art, and culture in the crafts sector in Lower Saxony. It aims to unlock, honor, and communicate the innovative potential of craftsmanship to a broad public.
Target groups
Innovative projects, processes, and products of craft businesses as well as craftswomen and craftsmen registered in Lower Saxony are funded. A prerequisite for application is registration in the register of crafts of the responsible Lower Saxony Chamber of Crafts or an equivalent authorization for independent craft practice.
