KastanienHof-Stiftung

Private foundation

About the funder

The KastanienHof Foundation supports—according to the wishes of the founder—children, adolescents, and elderly people through projects in the fields of youth and elderly care. Furthermore, it promotes monument protection and preservation in the Cologne area, particularly at Cologne Cathedral and Romanesque churches. The foundation finances both its own initiatives, such as festivals and nature projects at KastanienHof, as well as cooperative measures with non-profit organizations, associations, and church sponsors.

Mission & Vision

The KastanienHof Foundation aims to empower young and older people in Cologne in their social participation and joy of life, while simultaneously preserving the city’s cultural heritage for the long term. Through creative self-initiated and funded projects, the foundation seeks to promote community, foster self-confidence and initiative, and ensure the preservation of historic monuments.

Target groups

The funding programs of the KastanienHof Foundation are aimed at children and adolescents (including those with and without disabilities), elderly and immobile seniors, as well as church congregations and monument preservation projects in Cologne. Both individual cases (e.g., financial emergency aid, therapeutic services) and group and cooperative projects (school classes, residential groups, senior circles, restoration teams) are supported.
