Kathinka Platzhoff Stiftung
About the funder
The Kathinka Platzhoff Foundation was established in 1981 by Kathinka Platzhoff (1896–1981), granddaughter of the Hanau company founder Wilhelm Carl Heraeus. It is a non-profit foundation based in Hanau that, in close cooperation with the Walloon-Dutch community, aims to support needy children, adolescents, families, and seniors. The foundation operates two modern daycare centers, full-day care at primary schools, a seminar house with intergenerational educational programs, senior-friendly housing, and offers STEM workshops. Furthermore, it implements its own foundation projects and provides financial and organizational support to cooperation partners.
